River Pages

An occasional notebook for small discoveries and useful ideas.

A map for the weekend

Mark two places to visit and leave the route between them open. A plan can make a day easier without deciding every minute in advance.

The morning route

Walking familiar streets at a different hour reveals a different place. Notice the light on a wall, the first open shop, and which trees are still holding their leaves.

Room to read

Leave a book where it is easy to pick up. Ten unhurried pages can be a better habit than waiting for a completely free afternoon that never quite arrives.

The windowsill experiment

Rotate a pot a little each week and let the soil dry before watering again. Changes happen slowly, so a short note about the light and the weather can be more useful than a daily guess.
